The ultimate goal.

Updated: Sep 29, 2023

Living with an Opportunity Mindset turns improbable goals into the possible, and before long, that which seemed impossible to most becomes the inevitable for those who are relentless in their commitment to doing more and being more.

“I have learned this at least by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of their dreams, and endeavours to live the life which they imagined, will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. They will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within you; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in your favour in a more liberal sense, and you will live with the license of a higher order of beings.” Henry David Thoreau.

So, this morning as we all confidently advance with an Opportunity Mindset in the direction of what we have decided matters in our lives, or indeed, what we have decided no longer matters and therefore what we have decided to change, I offer you this.

“Cherish your visions. Cherish your ideals. Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environments; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”

Living with an Opportunity Mindset is ultimately all about self-mastery and self-mastery is ultimately all about conquering FEAR. Fear is what’s holding us all back from living the life we are born to live. In some form or another, every major worry and self-destructive thought is rooted in one of seven fears.

1) The fear of what other people think. 2) The fear of change. 3) The fear of making the wrong decision. 4) The fear of missing out on something better. 5) The fear of not being good enough. 6) The fear of failure being permanent. 7) The fear of being ‘due’ for a setback.

In some form or another, every major worry and self-destructive thought is rooted in one of these seven fears. Fear is what’s holding us all back from living the life we are born to live.

Stan Beecham’s brilliant book “Elite Minds” tells us.

“Fear is your real opponent. It’s all about fear. If you kill fear, you win. If you kill fear, you have your best year ever. If you kill fear, you train like a madman. If you kill fear, you go to college for free. If you kill fear, you stand on the podium, you get paid, and you have strangers walk up to you and call you by name. When fear dies, you begin to live.”

And: “Fear is keeping you from reaching your potential. Conquering fear should be your primary goal in life.”

Decide. Commit. Act. Learn. Advance. Repeat.
