Positive Transformation of Health, Wellbeing & Community Integration.

Updated: Jan 20

How does it feel to sit back and watch people suffer under the weight of a broken system of ignorance, a broken economic system that is forcing good people trying their best to feed themselves, provide shelter for their families and clothes for their children, to be pushed out into the streets to starve while others sit comfortably complaining about life?

With poverty of all kinds playing a massive role in a battle for the mental health, along with wellbeing and community integration in our nation at an all time low, we must find a better way of supporting brighter better futures, giving our people the hope and belief that Positive Transformation of society is coming. More so now than ever, billions of people globally must be given a belief that the future will ensure our children will not live with fear, doubt and under the destabilising uncertainty we are experiencing now on a scale never seen before.

As a society, regardless of how much an individual person, project, organisation or government may like to think they are doing, it isn't working. We are failing to understand that humanity needs the support of a global collaboration to find new ways of connecting the abundant resources of successful charitable projects, corporations, and governments to the people that desperately need help, and more so, absolutely deserve that support.

“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society,"

Jiddu Krishnamurti.

This is not about any one issue of food, cost of living, jobs or any other individual factor, these are symptoms of wide spread poverty and a famine of compassion, wisdom, and a willingness to help others find the resources they desperately need to survive at the most basic level. This is about understanding the root causes in the declining health of our bodies, wellbeing of our minds, and decaying community engagement leading to social collapse. And for anyone who thinks this is over stating the facts, just switch on the news.

To turn the tide and create a culture of generations to come who genuinely Do Well and Do Good, not Say Well and Say Good while do nothing of value. We will need to become equally powerful and uncomfortable to serve in a well adjusted society, asking ourselves some very difficult questions, and demanding that we all are contributing to the solutions.

It would be either a very ignorant or incredibly stupid person to argue there are not clear signs of stress around the world. Aside from the continuing conflicts, lack of compassion and increasingly a famine of meaningful connection, a billion people still go to bed hungry and a child dies of starvation every six seconds.

Below is a powerful image of the uncomfortable truth and this is what the reality of our current "civilised global society" actually looks like!

Take a moment to imagine this is your child.

Our form of capitalism is clearly creating more problems than it solves and without a fundamental change in attitudes toward social value, we will never create the right standards, accept responsibility, or be able to execute the right strategies for measuring outcomes, which by the way, should be leveraging the power of Ai creating real transparency and absolute accountability, ideally backed up with blockchain certification.

You say it? Then you do it. You prove it. Then you are held accountable for it.

No exceptions. No excuses.

"This is not some foo-foo dust. It’s hard-wired, and you get what you measure. We think it’s directly linked to the bottom line. -Paul Polman, CEO, Unilever.

To start is simple and yet far from easy. We must however accept the really big and difficult questions and that journey begins by asking those difficult questions. More than just difficult the questions we must ask are challenging and awkward, they are the inconvenient truth that is going to force us out of our self serving bubbles of comfort and into the an arena of life where we are fighting for the survival of humanity, not for control of the TV remote and who gets to watch the fucking Kardashians, or some other meaningless bullshit waste of space celebrities, while we shove another extra large pizza slice in our faces.

To really get us moving we must make a huge list of all the reasons (excuses) we are not acting, the government, finances, weather, blah blah blah. It is so easy to write a list, commission another study, and tell everyone else what they are doing wrong and how they should be different while we write yet another impact report. What is less comfortable and yet far more powerful is to look at that list and then ask what should be at the top of this list?

What is the real problem?

I am the problem! We are. You are. A total lack of responsibility and unwillingness to put ourselves at the top of the list is the problem. The problem then and the thing that needs to change first is simple, me, you, everyone must be the change we want to see in the world.

So now we know, now we can do something about it starting to create the change we want to see by leading ourselves first, then supporting others.

So then, as human beings what right do we have to be breathing today above and beyond the people we now see as news stories? Why is it so easy to see the people as unfortunates on social media, and so easily to dismiss them as not our problem? Why do we see war veterans homeless and starving outside on the streets? Why are our prisons full? What is at the root of the unruly children we see throwing glass bottles in the streets? Are we not all one humanity, one people, one community?

How long will it be and how bad will it get before society accepts this fact and stops pushing against the responsibility we all have as individuals to stop blaming everyone else. When will we wake up with an epiphany to the inherent self absorption, and shit talking distractions going on while our planet dies along with our humanity?

We are all human beings, real people struggling through real suffering, real families, real feelings, and regardless of financial position, status in society or political influence we all have pain of some kind that increases daily with global conflict and a growing famine on empathy.

Mental health has crashed, a global financial crisis continues to develop, debt, civil unrest, and war are all now of atomic proportions and the world is more disconnected through connection than ever.

Going full ostrich and burying our heads in political rhetoric, screaming at each other about who is best, who is worse and who is to blame isn't cutting the mustard. We are all to blame, me, you and everyone else. Nobody get's a pass for the shit show we see around us.

Brighter better futures are not somebody else's problem, they are ours collectively.

So how do we move from trying to put a band aid on a gaping wound that is clearly killing the patient? We must be seeking to understand what lies beneath the mind dulling resonance of collective group think and conventional opinion about where we find ourselves today, and what we are prepared to actually do about it.

The blatant absolution of self responsibility is clear to see as we all keep talking a great game. Today we are all guilty of tolerating the greatest SAY/DO GAP the world has ever seen, and that complete lack of integrity is killing our people, communities and planet.

What positive steps, even very small steps can we make today toward changing minds and changing lives by demonstrating the power of collaboration?

We can start thinking bigger, more collaboratively and about powerful and immediate positive transformation with a relentless focus on helping us all help each other find ways to do more and be more for ourselves and in society.

Positive Transformation is about brining people together, looking at ourselves first, then looking externally for wonderfully inspiring projects wherever they may be and connecting them to the people, resources and funding that widen impact through collaboration. This is all about intentionally creating engaging collaborations that enable brighter better futures for humanity by supporting Social Value Growth (SVG) and a global culture of

Positive Transformation is the driving force behind The Doing Well Doing Good which is the community established to transform a billion lives in the next decade. We believe with all our heart there is nothing more powerful than a changed mind. When we can change one mind we positively transform one life. One becomes two, two becomes four and exponentially compounded growth becomes a billion lives faster than you may think, all engaged in Positive Transformation through powerful reciprocal actions, not words of no meaning.

As we continue our efforts daily to identify the wonderfully inspiring projects that will change the lives of so many as they expand through collaboration, we focus on finding grass root projects that are likely to be the most effective at connecting the abundant resources of large corporations, with the increasing needs of our communities, positively impacting the lives of real people in measurable ways through collaboration that insists on impact.

On our inspiring journey we meet and connect with so many wonderful people who are all engaged in powerfully impacting their communities, people leading the rallying cry for organisations to increase their appetite to support the needs of society, while also fulfilling their increasing obligations to their employees, shareholders, communities and to our wider society as courageous business leaders prove to be responsible citizens of the world, working with The Club of Doing Well Doing Good delivering Social Value Growth (SVG).

Personally I see the world, how we have become and I don't like it. I see Doing Well and Doing Good together is going to be a life long journey of positive transformation helping and supporting each other.

On this journey there is a fundamental need to immediately help people remove the negative self perceptions that can be developed in childhood that have become so destructive at the highest levels of power.

Today we have grown people behaving like children at the expense of everyone else, people with the power to destroy our planet, our lives and humanity, yet with very little influence or power over their own behaviours, all playing power games with the lives of people who have not yet realised their own power of agency to fight back, focus within, and then go out into the world with confidence as we take the challenges one by one, attacking and adapting to every circumstance.

So then, let's start by reminding ourselves every day that no matter how wonderful your personal current reality may be “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society," and collectively we must raise our standards of how we show up in the world every day for ourselves, our families, friends, and communities by Doing Well and Doing Good, leading ourselves first, and then the world by example.
